.I truly hate intros...
If it wasn't clear, my name is Emma! I'm 26 and live just outside of Edinburgh, Scotland with my gran, her cat who hates me, and my many lovely fancy rats! I'm autistic and chronically ill and decided I needed to resurrect my book blog in my journey of discovering me.
If you're here, you've probably stumbled upon me in one corner of the internet or another. My biggest presence is on youtube and twitter where I mostly talk about books but I am also a digital artist (commissions information here) and I'm involved in a number of online communities in varying capacity - be it autism/neurodiversity groups, fandoms (Doctor Who, Criminal Minds and Supernatural, in particular) or who knows what else.
I've brought this website back to life as, honestly, I was starting to lose myself. I was so focused on emmanovella as a brand that I started to forget emmanovella was... just me. I got caught up in keeping "on brand". I was worrying that people followed me for bookish content or maybe it was art, or was it the autism advocacy?? But I've realised that doesn't matter. I'm not a brand. I'm me. People don't have to be interested in every aspect of me - if they truly like me be it as a person or a creator, they'll stick around when I post other things. So here we are. emmanovella. Not a book blog, not an art website. Just a place for the person. (and you know... to keep my bookish review policy, sensitivity reading services and art commissions info handy...)
If you would like more updates on the rats, see my dedicated website www.novellarats.co.uk.
