I've been playing a LOT of Animal Crossing these days and during it, I find myself thinking about books. Either picturing my life inside the story or just thinking about my time reading it. I thought it would be fun to share a list of the books that I find popping into my head often! Harley in the Sky by Akemi Dawn Bowman
It should come as no surprise that this book features on this list. I talk about it non-stop and just utterly ADORE it. If I could only have one contemporary book it would be this one! This book is always in my head (and on my body) and I find myself imagining living in Harley's world. I can practically smell the popcorn and hear the circus music. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo I'm not a huge classics fan. They more often than not centre on characters and I'm just not about that. But somehow (aka with a lot of skimming) I managed to get through this BRICK of a tome. I don't necessarily think of moments in this book but more about the translation. It pains me that I'm not fluent enough in French to be able to read Hugo's exact words and instead rely on translations but I also want to reread this book in different translations to see different interpretations while I'm studying the original language (and by studying, I mean not doing anything at all except maybe one Duolingo lesson a month) The Bunker Diary by Kevin Brooks THIS BOOK. I can't say much as it's really not a title you should know much about other than it's kinda dark. I think of this book so much and wish I could experience it for the first time all over again
