HAPPY WORLD BOOK DAY!!
If that wasn't good enough, today, March 1st marks (Justin Bieber's birthday... just saying) haha no seriously... Today is one year of my bookstagram account! I'm really not sure where the time went but such is life I suppose! February wasn't as successful a reading month as I had hoped but with my trip to Paris and my gran being in hospital I haven't been too hard on myself for slacking. I'm not actually bothered that I only read three books in the month but I am annoyed that out of the two novels, only one was a good read. However, it's World Book Day and I've just finished a book (that's taken me about a week to get through) so March is off to a good start and I'm hoping to catch up with my reading challenge (I'm five books behind schedule!! Ahhh!) So, rambling's done; onto the books I read in February!

January was a great reading month for me with some major accomplishments. The majority of my reading time over the last month was spent focusing on Les Miserables and I feel that I barely touched anything else yet I somehow powered my way through 7 books!
I'll admit that about half of these were short, quick reads but nonetheless I am so pleased with what I read and I hope I can keep reading as much throughout the year! December has been a strange month for reading. I feel like I've barely touched a book yet here I am having read a bunch - some of which are chunkers! Seriously, I powered my way through the third book in a political fantasy in just a few days - the first book took me M O N T H S! Overall, I am pretty pleased since I've been incredibly unmotivated and I suffered a nasty migraine for a few days which rendered me inable to do anything but sleep, along with christmas and all that comes with it.
Better late than never, right?
I am well aware it's now the second week of October but here I am with my September Wrap-Up. This was a pretty decent month for me, with 8 books read and with four 5 star reads, and two 3 and 4 star reads. I'm actually surprised I got through as many books as I did considering I was stuck on one book early on in the month that I kept wanting to DNF but, stupidly, forced my way through (and yes, I still gave it 3 stars. We'll get to it soon enough).
This month was full of Fringe Festival madness so reading took a bit of a backseat for me. I still managed to read 7 or 8 books as I was attempting to catch up with my reading challenge and thus chose a lot of fairly small, less than 200 page books; but this last week or two has been a struggle. I've been so uninspired and so overwhelmed by all the books I have to read that I've been putting off finishing what I am reading so I don't have to worry about choosing something else! August was definitely a meh reading month in terms of my opinion, also. Only two books surpassed the 3 star mark and even then none got anywhere near 5 stars. However, I'm soldiering on and although I was fairly disappointed with a lot of these books, I'm still glad I read them. Summer has come and gone but now we are finally breezing in to the best months of the year! July was an alright month for me. It sort of just happened with no excitement surrounding it - which was welcome after the hellish June I had - and I'm looking forward to a new month and fresh start.
I haven’t done a wrap-up or kept track of how many books I’ve read each month for a long time so when checking my goodreads for this post I was insanely surprised to find out I’d read 10 books in July! I kept clicking on a title thinking ‘ok so this one will be June – nope, July… Ok, the next one – and nope again’. I think this is because I’ve stopped trying to pressure myself to read a million books a month and instead read because I want to and it has certainly paid off! So, without further ado, here are my ten reads from July: April saw the return of my love of reading which had been gone for far too long to think about! I'm still nowhere near caught up with my schedule but I am making a teeny tiny dent into my TBR - who's growth has finally been stunted (for the most part!)
Whilst I'm still not reading as many books as I'd like considering my free time at the moment, I am really glad with what I'm reading and the fact I am enjoying it! This month I read 6 books and all of them were ones I really enjoyed! YAY! |
