I made it to YALC!! Almost... I opted for a nice, quick, 7 hour bus down to London which I've done plenty of times before but never alone... and let me tell you, alone is NO FUN. I don't even want to go into it but WOW IT WAS A STRUGGLE. But anyway, you're not here to hear about that - you wanna know all about BOOKS. I wasn't sure what to expect from YALC. I knew it wouldn't be as big as BookCon but I was still expecting to enjoy it. I knew it would be different but I really did not expect to love it quite so much. The somewhat small floor (compared to the main floor for LFCC!) made it feel intimate but not too cramped. There were plenty places to sit and chill including the dedicated "chill out zone" which, in fairness, I do have some issues with (lack of seating, for one. Anyone with disabilities would struggle as the only option was the floor or a handful of inflatable seats that weren't much better.)
Overall, I had an awesome first day, taking part in the workshops and getting some books. Cannot wait for the rest of the weekend!
