A wonderful, special book. Just perfect.
These books are the best of the best in my opinion and I hope everyone will read them. They hold a place in my heart and often have a special shelf just for them. For example, I have a Wicked shelf with my numerous editions of it and I also have a Harry Potter shelf for all my books and pop figures! These are books I will reread forever, give as gifts and pounce on people in bookstores if I see them browsing it!

A brilliant book that had little or no faults.
Theses are books that I love, they just lack that little special spark. This rating is still very very good and again, shows a book everyone should read. I'd consider rereading these books and am likely to talk about them a lot.

A good, enjoyable book.
I probably give this rating the most. These are books I have enjoyed but are very middle ground. They're good but have some issues and are most likely books that we've all read before but with different characters - you know what I mean: a little unoriginal but not bad, they make you think "oh this is just another Twilight/John Green" etc. Sometimes there are unique books in here but they just fell a little flat or were too predictable. All in all, these are well written books that I enjoyed reading and am glad I picked up but I'm unlikely to read it again.

Not my cup of tea.
These book can be good and they can be bad. Sometimes these are very well written, thought out novels but they are just not my thing and I didn't enjoy it. Sometimes they're just terrible books but they have some saving grace to them and I think others may get more out of it than I. I would not reread.

Ugh. Wish I hadn't read.
I rarely give out this rating. I appreciate literature is subjective and, as a writer, I understand the emotion and effort that goes into writing a novel so I don't take such a low rating lightly. I wouldn't recommend this book, but as I've said reading is subjective and this could easily be someone else favourite book of all time so do not take my word as gospel!
